Colorful DIY Bunny candles

Before you start making the actual candles, fill the double-walled aluminum melting pot with water at the filling opening on the side. Make sure to close the stopper provided tightly so that the water does not escape. Then heat the pot on the hob or a gas hob - note that the pot is not suitable for induction hobs! Alternatively, you can hang a melting ladle in a water bath to melt your wax effortlessly.

Put about nine heaped tablespoons of wax into the melting ladle or pot. Allow the wax to melt at a low temperature. The melting point is 54 °C, which means that it becomes liquid at this temperature and is easy to work with.

You determine the intensity of the color of your candles by the amount of wax coloring granules you add. For an additional sensory stimulus, you can add candle fragrances to add a subtle scent. Mix everything well so that the color and fragrance are evenly distributed in the wax.

Cut off a piece of wick and pull it through a needle. Push the needle through the bottom of the silicone mould and use jewelry pliers to pull the needle out again. Pull the top end of the wick into a metal wick holder. This ensures that the wick remains stable when you pour in the wax.

Now you can slowly pour the melted, colored and possibly scented wax into the mold. Be careful not to move the wick holder so that the wick remains straight. Leave the candle to dry for around five hours before carefully removing it from the mold.

Stick the tree slices on top of each other in a staggered pattern and place your bunny candles on top. Decorate the surroundings with some moss, eggs and gypsophila to create an enchanting and natural atmosphere.
